What to Wear on the Track
- Full leather suit: One-piece or zip-together two-piece. Required at all track-day organizations.
- Motorcycle boots: Above-ankle, hard-shell protection.
- Race gloves: Knuckle protection + palm slider.
- Full-face helmet: DOT, ECE, or Snell certified.
- Spine + chest protector: Highly recommended.
- Eye protection: Visor or goggles — mandatory for spark slider use.
How to Knee-Drag with Spark Sliders
- Master cornering basics first. Don't install kneesliders for your first track day. Have at least 3-5 track sessions of consistent cornering experience.
- Install Void Extreme Kneesliders on your leathers using hook-and-loop attachment.
- Body position: Hang off the inside of the bike. Lean upper body toward the corner.
- Knee out: Open inside knee outward and downward. Aim to touch the surface at the apex.
- Max 4-second scrape cycles followed by 5-second cooldown to preserve spark inserts.
- Don't reach for the ground. Let the bike lean to the slider, not the other way around.
Common Track-Day Mistakes
- Using on public roads. MoltenCore sliders are not StVZO-certified for public road use in Germany.
- Scraping too long. Exceeding 4-second cycles overheats spark inserts and reduces lifespan from 200 to 50 sessions.
- No eye protection. Metallic friction particles can travel at high velocity. Visor mandatory.
- Wet surfaces. Spark inserts don't generate properly on wet asphalt and water can damage hot inserts.
- Wrong attachment. Kneesliders use hook-and-loop — check that the receiving patches on your leathers are compatible.
Track-Day FAQ
Will track-day organizations allow MoltenCore spark sliders?
Most track-day organizers allow spark sliders since they are EU GPSR (2023/988) compliant consumer accessories that do not affect bike mechanics. Always confirm with your specific organizer before the event.
Are kneesliders safer than regular sliders?
MoltenCore Void Extreme Kneesliders are designed as visual accessories with embedded spark inserts. They offer comparable abrasion protection to standard track kneesliders. Always pair with proper leathers.
How many sessions per pair of kneesliders?
50–200 full track sessions depending on lean angle, scrape duration, and corner count per lap. Riders dragging knees every corner of every lap see ~50 sessions. Less aggressive riders see ~200.
Can I use Feetsliders on the track?
Yes. CoreV5 Obsidian Feetsliders are designed for motorcycle boots and work well for foot-down or boot-drag cornering. Pair with appropriate motorcycle boots.
What is the difference between ShardV7 and ShardV0 Elbowsliders?
ShardV7 has 7 spark inserts per pair for dramatic spark trails when scraped. ShardV0 has zero spark inserts — designed for riders who want elbow protection without the visual spark effect.
